Maddy's Background

Hi, I'm Maddy, Chickadee's founder and care provider. I have a BS in Elementary Education and minors in Spanish Dual Immersion Teaching and Family Life from Brigham Young University. I also have an MBA from Southern Utah University. I am thrilled to use all of my education to bring my dream of providing high quality childcare to life. I was raised in a family of seven kids, which is where my love for families and children began. Supporting parents and families in my community is one of my greatest values and motivators.

My goal with Chickadee School is to provide the best in-home program in the Saint Louis area. I have created a place where your child is safe and cherished while they play and learn. Chickadee is both a daycare and preschool, where your child can be cared for full time, year round, birth through kindergarten. 

​

 

While play and learning are incredibly important, I believe that the relationship between caregiver and child is the most important part of my work. I connect with and care for your child with the same dedication I give my own daughter.

Experiences & Qualifications

My experiences and qualifications include:

  • BS, Elementary Education, Brigham Young University

  • Minor in Spanish Dual Language Immersion Teaching

  • Minor in Family Life

  • MBA, Southern Utah University

  • 2 years teaching second grade

  • 3 years teaching swimming lessons to children

  • 2 years nannying experience (family of 7 children whose mother was blind)

  • I come from a family of 7 children, and have wonderful examples and mentors who value children and families

  • 3 years corporate banking/finance experience

  • CPR & First aid certified

  • Graduate of Missouri Supporting Early Childhood Administrators (MO-SECA) Coaching program

  • I attend ongoing professional development and early childhood conferences
